yesssss

Here are some reasons why life is fantastic right now.

2) I'm thoroughly moved in to my new room in the huge main university building.
3) I have internet access (!)
4) The MSU Chamber Orchestra is fabulous.
5) Astronomers exist in Moscow, and one of them has a bunch of CCD images of a supernova that I get to play with (a la IRAF and photometry)
6) I bought myself a potted plant.
7) There are places to eat around here.
8) Speaking of eating, the guys took us out to a restaurant called Дядя Ваня last night and it was yummy, plus they got us flowers (it was Women's Day).

and the number one reason why life is fantastic right now:

1) Michael Bigelow is coming to Moscow on April 4!!!

Only possible improvements on my current situation: ice cream, guacamole, clean socks, a comfortable bed, a computer that easily supports IRAF. Two of those things are possible, the others will have to wait, but no matter.

Also, tomorrow is Saturday and I am sleeping in.

A potted plant? You're replacing Seymore?? You can't do that!
And how is Seymore Junior going to come back to the states, anyways?

Glad to hear that you found an astronomy and music gig (well, separate gigs).

no worries, seymore can never be replaced! how's he doing these days, anyway?

sadly I think I'll have to find a new home for my new as-of-yet unnamed plant come May.

Hi Shortstuff,

We have been at TC for about a week and head south in about another week. Am enjoying your Blog and am thrilled that things are taking shape, and that Mike will be visiting in a few weeks! It may be hard to believe, but you have been away for about a third of the time that you will be gone. At last it seems like things are settleing down to a reasonable routine for you. Good.

Love, Dad
